The mission of the HHAC is to foster collaborations among community partners to assess, reduce and prevent illnesses and unintentional injuries associated with indoor environments – including childhood lead poisoning and respiratory illness such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
The vision of the HHAC is to create the housing conditions that improve the quality of life and reduce health care costs for Greater Clevelanders by:
- Eliminating childhood lead poisoning
- Controlling indoor triggers of respiratory illness
- Catalyzing home injury prevention initiatives
- Reducing other housing related illnesses and unintentional injuries
